Much of America’s story originates in New York. Henry Hudson, West Point, Hambletonian and George Washington can claim a beginning here. Early exploration, technological developments and those who created American history gave meaning to the name, “Empire State.” With all these firsts, New York history is surely worth celebrating!

Activities include: Discovering New York historical connections via a letterboxing exercise in the museum; portraying historical characters in a brief play; learning the origins of the movement of horses and of the motion picture by creating a harness racing flipbook
