Bred by Valley High Stable, broodmare Gala Dream was foaled on April 6, 2001 in Cream Ridge, New Jersey. She is currently owned by Hanover Shoe Farms.

The progeny that qualified Gala Dream for the Hall of Fame are 2013 Dan Patch, O’Brien Two-Year-Old Trotting Colt of the Year and 2014 Dan Patch Three-Year-Old Trotting Colt of the Year, world champion Father Patrick 3,1:50.2f ($2,558,133) by Cantab Hall; and 2010 Dan Patch Two-Year-Old Trotting Colt of the Year Pastor Stephen 3,1:52.4s ($1,048,607), also by Cantab Hall.
