Biography: 

An outstanding equine artist, George Ford Morris painted portraits of horses for more than seventy years. Born in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1873, he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and at the Julian Academy in Paris. Some of his earliest illustrations of horses for magazines were done when he was seventeen. His work appeared in such publications as The Horseman, Breeder's Gazette, Western Horseman, American Field and American Horseman. In 1952 he published a book titled Portraiture of Horses. He died in 1960 in Arcadia, California.
