Biography: 

Broodmare Solveig was foaled on May 18, 2002 in Lexington, Kentucky. Bred by Tom Crouch, Solveig raced from 2004 to 2007, earning $820,791 for owners Christina Takter, John Fielding, Anderberg Stable and Fred Hertrich. Trained by Jimmy Takter and driven primarily by Takter and David Miller, Solveig’s greatest victory came in the 2004 Oakville Stakes at Mohawk Racetrack, driven by Miller. She is currently owned by Solveig’s Breeders of New Jersey.

The progeny that qualified Solveig for the Hall of Fame are two-time Breeders Crown winner, Dan Patch Two-Year-Old and Three-Year-Old Trotting Filly of the Year (2013-2014) and 2014 Trotter of the Year, world champion Shake It Cerry 3,1:51.2 ($2,497,785), and Pennsylvania Sire Stakes standouts Uncle Lasse 3,1:51.4f ($931,268) and world champion Dontyouforgetit 3,1:52.1f ($598,049).

To date, Solveig has produced six foals of racing age with five starters and earnings of $4,339,365.
